Do you need a new leg exercise that isn’t using the barbell to squat? I’ll take any workout that is different from the norm.
Well what is that workout I speak of? The bosu ball! A bosu ball is half of an exercise ball tat promotes balance and stability. The bosu makes simple exercises harder due to your muscles trying to maintain balance while working. There are three exercises that I do in a circuit with this equipment.
Start with a foot on the ball and your other foot back in a lunge. Then, drive your knee forward and up. Then, go back to the starting position. Double-time this 20x.
2. Squat Switch Hops
This one is a fun but hard one! Start with your left foot on the bosu ball with your right foot off the ball but to the right side. Squat then jump from the left foot being on the ball to the right. Continue this 20x.
3. Split Squats
Last but not least, do split squats with your back leg on the ball. Sometimes pushing the bosu ball up against a wall can help your back foot from sliding.
Do these exercises three times through. Boy do I feel this the next day! It gives my cardio while toning the legs at the same time.
